Quantum computer recognizes individual nucleotides for the first time
Japanese scientists used a quantum computer to distinguish adenosine monophosphate nucleotides from three other nucleotide molecules, the first time a quantum computer has been applied to single-molecule measurements, proving its great potential in genome analysis. The latest research is expected to make ultra-fast genome analysis useful in areas such as drug discovery, cancer diagnosis and infectious disease research. The paper is published in the latest issue of the Journal of Physical Chemistry B. (Science and Technology Daily)
