Smallest and fastest nano-exciton transistor ever introduced

South Korea's Pohang University of Science and Technology (POST) and Russia's St. Petersburg State Research University of Information Technology, Mechanics and Optics have developed a nano-exciton transistor that overcomes the limitations of existing transistors by using intra- and inter-layer excitons in semiconductors based on heterogeneous structures. The team also said that the nanoexciton transistor is expected to play an integral role in realizing optical computers that will help humans process massive amounts of data driven by artificial intelligence technologies.
